What’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile. Preformed by Maurice Burkhart Downloaded for free at the Cylinder Preservation and Restoration Project: http://cylinders.library.ucsb.edu/index.php
Lyrics: Everybody’s throwing Bolshevik now. You know that I’m right to say it’s wrong. After all the trouble that we’ve all been through, let’s forget and make believe the skies are blue. Grab the bull and Bolshevik by the horns and send him right back where he belongs.
What’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by. What’s the good of picking on that poor ol’ landlord? He’ll help you out, at that. Out of your cozy flat.
What’s the good of frowning? Maybe after a while living won’t be so high. Pork is expensive. You can’t keep it home. But you can turn Jewish and leave it alone. So what’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by.
Throw away your hammer, blow your little horn. Knocking never does you any good. Fill the country with a lot of harmony. Get together like a loving family. Tell the knockers in your little neighborhood, when they feel like knocking, to knock wood.
What’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by. What’s the good of fretting over prohibition? You’ll never land in jail for drinking ginger ale.
Have a little patience. Things will come out alright, though for a while we’re dry. Our congress cut out our liquor and beer, but we’re going to have a new congress next year. So what’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by.
What’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by. What’s the good of kicking over present prices? We know they’re out of range, but they are bound to change. There are lots of things we could be happy about, if we would only try. Shoes are now selling at twenty a pair. Ya don’t have to buy them. Just walk around bare.
What’s the good of kicking? Let’s go ‘round with a smile, and wait ‘till the clouds roll by.

I finally finished with the paintings I'm entering in the art show!(イエイ~♪) There aren't many because I was told (at the last minute) that my show space had to be cut in half (x_X). So, these are the paintings I decided to show... At least they're complete now, and I'll finally have a bit of free time again! Hooray!☆★

I never watch the news... But I just found out that there was an earthquake in the Niigata prefecture (where one of my friends live) over a week ago. I'd like to keep up with that sort of thing. Since LJ is one of the few websites that I check regularly, I decided to create a Japanese news community. Hopefully, other people will start posting besides just me:

Sorry, I had to post this because I thought it was so cute... There was a mouse in my house and I finally caught it today (via Havahart trap) and let it loose in the woods (far away from my house, of course ;P). It was good enough to pose for a photo before scampering off (^_^) |

I made this map from my trip notes and the highlighted road atlas I used on my road-trip. I think I was going to post something more detailed (I kept a travel log), but I never will. Anyway, here's the map.
I also have a bunch of photos in My Photo Album
The highlights were California (pretty), Nevada (Star Trek the Experience) and New Mexico (Roswell & Carlsbad Caverns). All in all, I was rather underwhelmed. Connecticut really is one of the nicer looking states (if you can stand the people), so my highlights are mostly "to do," not "to see." I went to CA Disney. Compared to the one in Tokyo, it was sort of, well, lousy.
That's about it~!

Wow, I just found this great nintendo site! www.gonintendo.com
But the really cool thing on the site was this. Someone spent a lot of time and effort making 3D versions of various characters and other things from games and televison... entirely out of paper! What's more, you can print out the patterns to make them yourself!

Looky!
About a year ago, I happened to see this movie on the TURNER CLASSIC MOVIES Network. Being a fan of silent film in general, I watched and... was amazed.
It's now one of my favorite movies (if not, my favorite!). While the version I watched was the Criterion Collection's English translation--which I've since purchased--the original version can be watched here for free... The only catch is that the original version is in French and I'm pretty sure that most of you, my LJ friends, can't speak French. Luckily, it's a silent film - not too much to not understand ^_^
